Child Sponsorship For as little as £15 a month, that’s 50p a day, we can equip a child to go to school Though in East Africa most primary education is now government-funded, statistics are not promising about how this benefits the poorest families. Government schools are often overcrowded, under resourced (often lacking in the basest essentials of chalk, exercise books and pencils) and few children gradutate with high enough grades to progress to secondary school. Also, parents are expected to contribute towards school meals and many simply cannot afford to do so. We sponsor children in Kenya, Tanzania & Uganda. Most of our children go to private school. What your £15 a month covers:
Our partners who operate the Sponsorship scheme in East Africa are all known to us personally and, in turn, they know all the children personally and see them regularly. We visit these countries at least once a year to encourage, teach, support and monitor the work. All our sponsors can expect to receive bi-annual updates on their sponsored child, hopefully including a letter or drawing from the child themselves. We aim to sponsor a child until they have completed their education, whether this is at the end of secondary school or whether they have the opportunity to progress to college or University.
