We believe that children characterise the future of their communities and yet it is the children that are too often neglected. Through sponsorship, you help to give a child food, education and the basic necessities that are required to offer that child a way out of poverty. As a sponsor you may think you are giving a small amount but to the child it makes the world of difference.
What we do
Equipe works in relationship with indigenous partners in East Africa who ensure all our sponsored children are looked after, supported, monitored and encouraged. Our partners request us to find sponsors for the most needy of children, particularly those orphaned, abandoned or where the family has become overburdened by the death or disablement of one or both parents.
In East Africa there is no social security and where children find themselves at the end of tragic circumstances they are left without hope. This is where we step in, to give the children hope and a future.
Our goal is to provide these children with funds for their education and basic needs until they leave primary school.
Your Sponsorship
We ask our sponsors to give £15 per month to their child. We promise that every penny of this money goes directly to the child. It pays for a child’s schooling which includes:- books, stationery, a uniform, school meals and any required medical care. In cases where children are resident at the school it also pays for additional food, clothing, bedding and other basic essentials.
We aim to keep our sponsors fully informed about their child and we will regularly update you with your child’s photograph, school report, letters, emails or drawings. This enables you to be able to watch your child grow and develop. We are also able to provide sponsors with the opportunity to join one of our teams to visit their sponsored children.
We operate a strict ethical policy that seeks to maintain the highest standard of integrity and honesty with all that Equipe does. In areas where corruption is rife we work diligently to ensure that all the money gets to the children for whom it is intended. Having long term partners who we have known and worked with over many years helps in this goal. We have UK partners based in East Africa and Equipe teams who visit the child sponsorship areas at least once per year.
How you can help
You can become an Equipe child sponsor by either 1) Completing a simple online form to set up a regular PayPal payment ; 2) Completing a online details form and then downloading a Standing Order Form and sending it to your bank or to us; or if you bank online, by setting up a regular payment to us.
